I wish I were a more grateful person. I am unspeakably fortunate in so many ways, but this time of year I always find myself bogged down in the things that are not right--that I wish were different but am (or feel) powerless to change.
I am thankful for my husband and my children for putting up with me when I am like this. I am thankful for the gracious life I live where all I have to complain about is this "unsettled feeling in the blood," as Stephen Dobyns describes below.
And I am thankful to know that it will pass.
